October

we did a lot of fun things in October.
first off, October is chase's absolute favorite month.
because his absolute favorite holiday is Halloween. he's into everything scary.
he cries when we take it down. he dreads Halloween coming because he knows the stores
won't be filled with scary things and that we'll eventually have to take down the decorations.
but until then, he enjoys every single scary day.
he was responsible for most of the decorations in our house.
he loves painting his face and dressing up. every day.

here he is trying out being a mummy.

we've tried to play more games with the boys. sometimes we all get overwhelmed....

chase left this for me to scare me. totally worked!

October usually has a few half days of school, so we went ice skating downtown
with some friends. it was their first time! chase declared he didn't like it because
it was too hard. grant did awesome and didn't give up. we hope to go a few more
times to get better at it.

this picture is funny because it looks like Grant is going really fast, but really
he's barely inching along. i love his determination to get better.

once chase discovered you could make snowballs, he didn't need ice skating anymore.

we got a huge pumpkin in college station, and chase loved hanging out with it.

this is a tree i usually decorate for other holidays that chase
dug out and decided to make "spooky."
i don't think i got a picture of all the scary drawings chase did
and taped up all. over. the house.

october and november is tree pruning time! the boys love to help jason.
(if you look closely, you can see how helpful chase is being.)

chase in his "nest."

cooler weather also means cinnamon rolls! the boys each get dough to make their own.
grant's were good, chase's are always un-edible because he likes to add soap and salt
to his dough. and sometimes egg shells. yum.

we thought it would be fun to teach chase to ride a bike. it wasn't going to well.
jason was very dedicated to teaching him, despite all the screaming. (can you see his face?)
we still have some work to to on this front.

we recently got this bike for family bike rides and chase LOVES this one!
chase and i have actually been on a lot of bike rides and it's been really fun.

more tree pruning...

and fires! you can't gave fall without fires and hotdogs and camping in the backyard.

it got a little colder as the night wore on....

smores!

and more face painting. what can i say, chase likes to be scary.
and when he paints himself, he's occupied for hours. it's great!

this one was the best. we went to wait for the bus like this and the mom's
faces that i ran into were the BEST. you would have thought i was letting him
smoke or something. sheesh.
