Christmas Break

We had a wonderful Christmas season and two week break off of school and work. We got to spend a lot of time together as a family and enjoy so many things.

We started off with Karen's Christmas and birthday presents, two girl kittens! Meet Twix and Snickers. They are so much fun and the kids absolutely love them. We then did a lot of our Christmas traditions, though a lot were canceled this year. We decorated our house and tree (even won a lights award for our neighborhood!), went and saw lights in our neighborhood, set up Jason's porta-ledge, walked in our neighborhood parks and lakes, and even saw Jason's brother's family in Mississippi and saw the beach and our extended family (staying socially distanced of course). We made gingerbread houses and it's so fun to see how much Claire loved the ornaments on the tree. Of course Christmas was awesome, we love getting and giving gifts for each other, and we enjoy watching movies and making and delivering cookies and treats.

We're not sure we're sad to see 2020 go, even though we learned a lot and had some great trips/memories as a family. We're excited for the new year, new experiences, and making new memories.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season! Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving in Arkansas

Since we couldn't visit any family or have any family come for Thanksgiving 2020, we decided to explore the outdoors. We went to the Ozark National Forest and decided to hike around for a few days. We rented a lake house and had the best time! The first day it was much colder than predicted - we were wearing towels from the back of our car as scarfs and hand warmers! But it was so much fun. We saw some beautiful scenery, deer, waterfalls, and cliffs and overlooks. We also had fires, watched movies, cooked a makeshift Thanksgiving dinner, and just spend a great few days together. Jason got to cross something off his bucket list, to repel down a 100+ foot cliff over this lookout which was super fun to help with.

We're so grateful for our family, that we're all healthy and well, that school and work can be from home, and that we have each other. We have so many blessings to be grateful for. We had a blast together and now we can't wait for the Christmas holiday season!
