Not so much Ice-pocalypse

 Well, the weekend was supposed to be an ice-pocalypse. We even were hoping for some snow. But it was a total bummer, nothing happened except it got reeeeeally cold (for us.). But we enjoyed more family time with the day off of school and with the city pretty much shut down for a few days. We made pancakes and cinnamon rolls, hunted for ice and icicles, played hockey with some ice pucks we made with my muffin tins, and enjoyed the cold weather. There's still time to hope we might get snow this year!

Chase turns 16!!!

We always get to start off the new year with a bang with Chase's birthday! And this year it was really exciting because he turned 16!!!!!!!!! EEEK!!!! We planned to take his driving test on his actual birthday, and he PASSED! YIPPEE! He was so excited! He's really made a lot of progress this past year learning to drive and it 's so nice now that he can drive himself around! 

We had a fun day celebrating the weekend before his birthday so Grant could be here. We made these special dutch waffles for breakfast and they were so good. We did presents and hung out, and then drove to a city north of us to go to Cheesecake factory and walk around the lake and Barnes and Noble. It was fun and then he went to a youth dance that night which he was excited for.  

Chase is such a great young man. He does so well in school and has made a lot of good friends in high school. He's currently working on a horror movie to make with some friends before they gradate in June. It's going to be epic! He's funny, friendly, responsible, and still very talkative - but it's so fun to hear his stories. He's almost a black belt and is a great brother. He looks out for people, is a great writer, and he loves to dress well and wear expensive watches and cologne. I guess it's about time to get a job.  😆
