Spring Break - Kentucky

We decided (last minute!) to go to Mammoth Cave National Park for spring break.
It was an awesome trip! Also last minute we thought to ask my parents if they
wanted to go, and they said yes! It was only 4 hours from them.

Luckily we found a hotel with two rooms free for 3 days. So we spent our time
hiking around and going through caves and having a great adventure. When we
originally looked, the weather was going to be sunny and 60. That wild storm that
hit the east affected us though, and the highs were in the low 40's! Brrr!
We still had a great time and the boys were excited to see a bit of snow!

The first day we did a 2 hour cave tour with 550 steps!!

It was beautiful inside though, such a cool thing to see. We were far underground.

After the tour and lunch, we went on a popular hike to see a sink hole.
I love this little snow bunny! She was so great as usual. :)

On Day 2 we went on a boat cave tour. This was the coldest day. You can see in the picture
it was snowing on the hike down to the boat dock!

After that, to get out of the cold, we visited the Corvette Museum.

Day 3 we saw a different cave with less steps but more visual variation.

Then we went on another hike to get out and see the park. It was supposed to be a short hike,
but somehow ended up being like 4 hours! The kids were so good, probably better than
us adults! Haha. We were tired to say the least, but it was fun and so pretty.

This stick sword fighting seems to be a trend... :)

This park was so pretty, I imagine it would be beautiful in summer and fall.

We had such a fun time and made some great memories!

Rodeo time

It's the time of year for the rodeo! It's always so fun to go as a family.
We take the boys out of school for a day and just have an awesome time -
carival, rides, trucks/cars, animals, shopping, fried everything you can imagine -
it's so so fun and such a great tradition that we love.

It takes a while to get there and park and get inside the huge place...Claire was tired
before we even started! But she quickly took a nap and then enjoyed all the sights.

We did the rides first - these are just their size - not too scary!

Grant saw the car he wants for his 16th birthday....ha!

More rides and fun houses....

I love this laugh!!!

The petting zoo....

Carnival games!

She would laugh and get excited every time the boys won something!

It was such a fun day!
