To get from the street to the beach (you can't see the beach from the street), just drive along the one way road that circles the Lanikai community. Once you go all the way around and are on the opposite side you came in on, pass about 4 of the public walkways to the beach. The public walkways are inbetween every so many houses (generally 3-4 houses). Here's a sign indicating its a public walkway to the beach.
