we planned a last minute trip to MO to spend the 4th of july there.
we met up with jason's sister and her kids and all jason's cousins that live in MO.
it was an awesome time. we ran the kids ragged from sun up to sun down for 3 days
then drove home. we had so much fun. museums, zoo, fireworks, parks, dinners,
playing with cousins, you name it we did it.
day 1, the zoo! (we somehow lucked out and it was 75 for a high this day.
such nice weather while we were there.)
day 2 - the magic house! st louis children's museum
this was killing me. there was this stage in one part and chase always says he wants to be
an actor. so he painted his face at a booth, then just sat up there while mom's and kids sat
in the audience. he didn't say anything, just sat there and made scary faces. it was so hilarious.
i think a few of the mom's were wondering what that boy was doing and who his parents were.....
that night us and 75,000 other people decided to go see the band perry and the fireworks. we took
the metro in and it was still SUPER crowded. it was a fun experirence though. the kids wore
themselves out rolling down this hill and grant even bought himself a LED helicopter he flew once
it was dark. they had a blast. well everyone but chase. chase slept from 7-10 until we woke
him up to see the fireworks.
at about 9:50 pm grant was like i'm tired i'm just going to lay down here...
and i had to shake him saying no! wake up! you'll miss the firworks!!!
chase not looking like the fireworks are worth it....
day 3 - the city museum - this awesome museum you can climb and jump and run
everywhere, in tunnels, cages suspended over the city, etc. it's super cool. kid heaven.
everyone was too scared to ride the ferris wheel on the roof but chase. last minute
i convinced evelyn to get on. here she's scared, but she won't be in a minute....
that night we had dinner and more fun playing and doing fireworks with
the cousins. it was an awesome short trip, and totally worth the drive.
hope you had a safe and fun 4th!!
