so i had planned to visit my dad when my mom was gone on an 18 day
tour of europe. jason was going to be gone in turkey, so the plan was we'd do to
georgia, and he would fly into atlanta at the end and then we'd all drive home.
well 3 days into my mom's europe trip, my dad tell me he broke his foot!
so we packed up a week early and drove out to help him.
i was so glad we could go and help with all the farm chores.
i watered the garden, picked tomatoes, helped with the horses, dogs, and cats.
i cooked and cleaned, got the newspaper, went grocery shopping.
it was awesome to have some quality time with him too,
watching movies, watching the news, telling stories, gardening,
and just hanging out.
we visited poole's mill by ourselves since grandpa couldn't get around
the boys had a great time. we love this park!

the canlas boys are great at stealing other kids sand toys...
grandma's arena. they boys loved making a map when it rained. the made rivers,
jungles, streams, forest, etc. we had to rake it all out before grandma came home,
but it was great entertainment for the extra week we were there.

jason came! it's been a long year with him gone for 9 weeks since january.
he's so helpful and willing to help fix a few things.

oh and megan came! my niece. cutest girl ever.
and yet another girl chase absolutely adored.
i absolutely love how easily entertained my boys are. they spent a ton of time just
running in the arena while jason dragged it with the tractor. so cute.
helping dad...boy were they glad to have their dad back...
our trip is not complete without a science lesson from grandpa. chase found an old
dog skull in the garage and really wanted to look at it, so we asked grandpa to
take it out and show us. he also had a cat skull he found.
it's always exciting with grandpa around. :)

before we left grandpa really wanted us to pick potatoes.
it was fun - like finding easter eggs!
we had a great time. i was so glad we could be there to help my dad and
see my mom after her trip. she also had a fabulous time in europe.
we had fun playing with cousins too, at the lake and waterpark.
we were babysitting when poor bennett broke his arm riding his scooter
at the park. poor guy. second boy i've babysat to break his arm!
thankfully, all ended well and everyone had a great time.
