utah trip part 1

for the first time, we decided to drive to utah this year. we love to go and ski
and this time we decided to take the boys to see the snow.
the drive was fun at first. grant, who's obsessed with the desert,
made us stop to get out and look at a cactus. he was so excited!

the last few hours were scary, as we were driving in a blinding snowstorm
through new mexico in the dark. and then chase decides to pee in his
carseat. it was a rough few hours, but we finally made it to the hotel.

in the morning, this was me.
i was not looking forward to another day of driving
and i swore i would NEVER drive again.

but the boys were excited to get going and in good spirits, so off we went.

the trip turned out to be so much fun, and i'm so glad we went.

here's chase first experience in deep snow, and he discovers
you shouldn't go out without a coat on and in sandals.

the first day we spent getting snow gear (since houston
doesn't really carry it - surprise, surpirse.) then we headed out
to rock canyon in provo for some awesome sledding.

the boys had SO MUCH FUN. they spent most of the 3
hours we were there rolling down hills, making snow balls,
and just overall playing in the snow. seeing their expressions
was worth the 26 hour car drive.

here they are all prepared for the winter weather!

chase figured out it was awesome to roll DOWN the hills,
not quite as fun to walk up. so i carried him up more times than
i can count. it got tiring, to say the least.

love those provo mountains! so glad we could show the boys.
