we decided to visit Chattanooga for a day. it was so fun! we rented a van and drove
the few hours early in the morning. first we went to ruby falls, an underground
cave tour that ended in a 145 ft underground waterfall! it was awesome.
after an awesome lunch, we hit up the two Chattanooga aquariums
the downtown area has this cool water feature as you approach the aquariums
after petting a snake, grant declared this "the best day of my life!"
there were so many things to see, it was hard to keep track. grant really wanted to pet
a stingray, and i'm glad he finally reached one. the two side by side aquariums are built on levels,
and as you travel down the levels, it's like you are traveling down the river or ocean,
and they show you the fish that live on each level. one of the coolest aquariums I've ever been to.
shark cage!
i love grant photo-bombing this crab shot of jason's
after the aquariums, we walked down to see the river. they had this cool step
water feature leading down to the river. the boys loved it.
we saw a ben and jerry's on our way back, and realized we needed some refreshment.
after this, jason sadly had to go back to work. the next few days we just played
with the dogs, dug in the dirt, hung out and swam at the local aquatic center.
one day after coming home from the garden center, my dad and i saw this
huge snake crossing the road. so we jumped out and took the boys into the forest to
check it out. grant declared it another "best day of my life."
it rained a LOT while we were there. georgia's having some record rainfall year.
it's a good thing the boys love the rain!
for the fourth of july, we hit up the local parade to get lots of candy. i thought my parents
were joking when they brought these buckets - but they were FULL by the end of the parade.
after the parade we went to the fern bank museum, a natural history museum.
chase was SO excited to see a "rexy!" (T-rex from "the night at the museum")
one of the last days we hung out with my brother and his family. it's always great to see them.
we went swimming at this swimming hole near my parent's house.
my mom loves hamburgers, and so does chase. he convinced grandma
more than a few times to take him out for a "hang-ga-bur."
my dad and the boys picking more potatoes to bring home to jason!
enjoying our last day on the farm. we had a blast! can't wait for next year!
