Happy 4th of July! We feel so grateful to live here. First
trip of the summer was visiting Nauvoo, IL and St Louis, MO. We had such a fun
time (though we greatly missed Grant who is still doing spring semester!
) We loved seeing the pioneer sights in Nauvoo, we weaved,
made bricks, rode a wagon pulled by oxen and draft horses, saw the temple, and
the new temple visitors center. We walked the trail of hope and enjoyed the beautiful
scenery of Nauvoo (despite the heat wave!) And we saw fireflies! We then
traveled to St Louis to see our cousin and enjoy the City Museum, the Magic
House, and then a great firework show under the Arch. Chase was excited to see
Ludacris and Zedd that night at the concert. Another heat wave with lots and
lots of sweating, but we still had an amazing time. On our drive home we
stopped in Texarkana for the night, and happened upon another (more hometown)
firework show that was 43 minutes long! Happy 4th of July!!
