West Texas/San Antonio

One of our final adventures of the summer was visiting Balmorhea State Park! It's been on our bucket list for a while, but it's literally in the middle of NOWHERE. So we finally ventured out to West Texas, stayed in a tiny town of Alpine, and spent 2 days snorkeling and swimming in the largest spring fed natural pool in the world. The spring flows 1 million gallons of water per hour, and it's always 72 degrees. It's crystal clear, 25 ft deep, and has fish and turtles in it. And at one end there's a high dive! It's amazing to see. We also saw Davis Mountains State Park and saw lots of desert landscape. On our way home we stopped by San Antonio for a few days, catching Sea World and the Riverwalk, went through a cave, and snorkeled and floated the San Marcos River. It was a great way to end the summer!
