Halloween

We had a fabulous Halloween season. We got to participate in a lot of fun events this year. We went to a pumpkin patch, helped out at a haunted woods with Chase's martial arts studio, went to a church Halloween party, helped decorate and run a haunted room for a Special Needs Carnival, had a Halloween parade at school, ending with the best part, Halloween night! Claire really got a lot of use out of her butterfly costume! She flitted all around whenever she would wear it. We had fun making her eyes look sparkly and glittery. Chase had a few costumes - he was a blow up sumo wrestler for the special needs carnival and our church party, but was super scary to scare people for the haunted woods and Halloween night. For the first time in a few years it was 40 degrees on Halloween night! So fun to be cold instead of sweating. We had quite a few boys at our house and it was fun to eat pizza rolls and soda and hang out until it got dark. We helped set up the driveway with the jack-o-lanterns (we carved those Sunday) and the fog machine. Jason loves to be scary and hand out candy in a spooky mask, sitting reeeeally still until the kids get close. The older kids love it. We even tried a flaming pumpkin this year! It was so cool. Claire and I went trick or treating with some school friends in our neighborhood until they got tired, then we kept going until Claire said "her legs were done." The boys went with their friends and got BIG candy bars. Jason successfully scared lots of kids, maybe too many since we had a lot of candy left over from kids who wouldn't come up and get it! It was a great spooky season. Halloween is the best!
