Holy cow...We can't believe we are the parents of a 17 year old!!!
We had a fun day celebrating Grant's birthday. The evening before we went out tubing with a friend of ours who has a super nice boat. We had a blast at the local lake, Lake Houston, tubing and swimming and riding around in his boat. It was a beautiful night and so much fun! Claire initially didn't want to go fast, but she quickly warmed up to going faster and faster and faster!
The day of his birthday we did presents and donuts, and had BBQ that day at HEB. We had Moochi with candles in it for his dessert! We watched the new Spiderman movie and he got to go to dance with some friends he made over the summer. It was a really fun day. He got clothes, which were really fun to go shopping for together a few weeks ago, some gaming headphones, candy from Claire (Grant's favorite thing in the world is candy), some other things he likes, and his big present was a BBQ! He's been into cooking lately and he's cooked for some friends at our local park, and we thought he'd like his own to cook for us and his friends. Jason helped him put it together and he wanted to grill that night! It's been soooo nice to have help with dinner!
Grant's accomplished a few big events in the last month - got his drivers license, got a job at Whataburger, and got contacts! He's such a great kid - he's fun and spontaneous, adventurous and reliable, and definitely the strongest (and tallest) person in our family. He's so helpful. He still likes gaming, and watching movies, is excited to start wrestling for the high school in a few months, likes to work out, and loves Guardians of the Galaxy. He's a great addition to our family and we were so excited to celebrate him!
