Trip to Georgia

We made our annual trip to Georgia to see Grandma and Grandpa.
We had such a great time!
First off, we saw a movie and went to lunch with Grandma.
That's always a great tradition, hamburgers and movies!

We love Grandpa's tradition of making us waffles every morning.
The boys like to help too.

The boys love the forest, and tree house, and the dogs. It's so fun for little boys here.

The horse arena is also fun.

Grandma getting the boys to pick weeds for her...

Grant absolutely loves how "licky" the dogs are.
He's always outside laying down while all the dogs pile on him and lick him to death.

Grandpa's boat! We went rowing/fishing/swimming for a day at the lake.

Chase found a treasure....that he was disappointed I didn't let him keep.

Grant learning how to seine. I'm so glad he got to do this with Grandpa. All the kids, their
spouses, and lots of the grandkids have had to learn how to do this, and it's a great tradition.
I'm glad my kids got the chance to learn and experience this with their Grandpa.

I didn't get pictures from Poole's Mill, but we seined a LOT that day. I held the bucket
and made sure Chase didn't roll down the river, while Grandpa and Grant seined.
It was awesome. Beautiful scenery, Grant seining with Grandpa, both boys loving
seeing what was in the net...it was a great day.

This day on the lake, we didn't catch much. Grant caught a crawfish with his bare
hands, but Grandpa and Grant really wanted to catch these tiny fish but they kept
swimming out of the net and one even jumped over the net! They were too quick.

Grandpa's amazing garden! Grant is catching Japanese beetles, there were thousands.

Peas! They were delicious, though I was sad we went early and missed the tomatoes.

Toads!

Grandma was babysitting a few horses and this one didn't know to be scared of electric fences
so she let Grant feed her and pet her. It was awesome!

The boys found feathers and wanted to use ink like in the "olden days." Of course Grandpa
had some, so we drew with it like we were "old."

Grandpa's lab! The boys love documenting the fish they saw/caught and then preserving
them in jars. Grandpa even let the boys take a few home. They were thrilled!!!

One day we went to the lazy river, that was fun. Another day we took Marta downtown
to see the Botanical Gardens and the Art Museum. It was a fun day. We walked all
over and were hot and tired but it was such a fun time and we made great memories.

Insect eating plants!

Vines that grow from the ceiling! (We loved these high altitude rooms because they were
air conditioned.)

Having only taken like 3 selfies before, this is not very good, but at least there's one picture of me.

After walking miles and miles in the heat, we ate dinner at the art museum. It was so fancy
and so good! It was funny that we looked so hot and tired and everyone else was dressed up.
Oh well. :)  Here we are eating the delicious chocolate cake we had last.

I was telling my dad that the boys didn't get to shoot BB guns at scout camp this year, so
he got his out and we made some targets and shot the guns. It was sort of hard for Chase,
but Grant had a blast. He is a pretty good shot too!

I felt bad shooting this happy zombie with braces, but we had a fun time.
It was a great trip! Can't wait for next time!
