the month of September is a hard one. grant has a rough time adjusting to school, and
chase has a rough time adjusting to life without grant. (and can i just say, i hate it
that grant gets home at 3:30 and is in bed by 7 pm? and they want us to do homework too?)
ugh! anyway, September is hard. it was especially hard this year because i had surgery, and
couldn't do much with the boys. and it's still hot, too hot to do much outside
and the pools are all closed. but we make it work and have fun anyway.
chase and i do a lot of random things while grant is gone...
chase was taught by jason to blow bubbles with his hand and soap, so he spends
a lot of time doing that during the day, and then styling his own hair.
and then demands i take pictures of all the different angles.
chase loves halloween, more than christmas. so one day he came to me and said
"quick take a picture! i'm a vampire!" (he did his hair by himself like this)
then after we're tired of playing and reading and writing, we go outside and wait for grant
to get off the bus. sometimes it's really early so we're out there for a while.
this picture is like where's waldo....
then once grant's home, it's a party! here they are playing xbox on a rainy day.
and who can't have fun for hours with a weedwhacker box?
this is them at 7 am. i'm sure our neighbors love the boys yelling outside so early.
all i can think of it's payback for the dogs that bark at 5 am and 11 pm.
chase got a fish at church and it died. he couldn't care less about it until it died.
then he spend like 30 minutes holding it and saying goodbye before flushing it.
he wanted to keep it forever and put it in a bag. gross.
the great thing about the heat is i could turn on the hose and they'd be entertained for hours.
i really really really love how much fun they have together and how well they get along.
chase is really into baking. well, not so much baking...as horsing around on a stool at the
counter while i bake. this time he put this measuring cup on his head and said
"call me mr. science!"
no clue where he got that from.
mmmmmmm....cinnamon roll dough..... he has to smell everything. even that dead fish.
sometimes he gets really excited to bake with me...
and then grant wants in on the fun. the great thing about grant is he can actually
accomplish something! other than throw all the flour on the floor and laugh
hysterically. or turn the beaters on outside the bowl.
chase helping with halloween projects....
jason's mom was visiting for september, so we celebrated her birthday. of course
we had to go to chuck-e-cheese....no canlas birthday is complete without one.
happy birthday lola! such a fun day.
