Memorial Day - Shady Lakes, AR

We headed off to Arkansas with some friends to camp for the weekend. We had a blast!
Hiking, swimming, sleeping outside, fires, smores, hot dogs, exploring - the kids had
so much fun. It was nice to take a break from daily life and just be outside.
The scenery was so beautiful too!

The first thing we did after seeing up camp was go exploring.

Jason and Claire! She is so good and loves to see the scenery.
She's getting bigger though, soon she'll have to walk on her own!

Throw rocks, build dams, swim, slide, just have fun. The water was clear and cool!

We found a swimming hole!

Claire was dying to go in, so we took her shirt and diaper off so she could have
something dry to wear for the trek back. We also didn't want her sitting
on her bare bum! She loved throwing rocks and splashing.

Made it back to camp, getting dinner ready

Getting ready for breakfast!

This was right down the hill from our tents. So pretty. The boys fished, threw rocks,
waded in, and just horsed around. It was beautiful and shady and so fun for them.
Claire loved watching them and then having us take her down to join in the fun!

A hiking adventure. A hike that was supposed to take 2 hours that really took 5.5!!
Good thing we brought a lot of water. The kids did awesome. It was much hilly-er than
anyone expected. Lots of bouldering too. We did it though!!

Beautiful swimming hole we swam in, this was the half way point

On the way back, Claire was getting creative with her feet....funny girl.

We made it back!!! Finally!

Good thing we found some oreos in the car! We felt like we deserved them. :)

We were sad to leave. Another amazing fun weekend with our friends and family!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We dyed eggs, hung out, had an egg hunt,
ate waaay too much candy, and had fun watching the kids open their Easter baskets.
It was a fun weekend with lots of great memories.

Dying eggs

Easter morning!

Looking for the hidden eggs!

Claire didn't get the egg hunting as much as we thought she would. She did quickly
figure out there was candy in the eggs and wanted to eat it all!
We had to show her how to hunt though. We had some special eggs just for her.

Chase tries to climb everything so he got a rope he can climb as much as he wants.
It's crazy how many times a day he climbs this thing!

Confetti eggs are another family tradition. It's always Dad against the boys,
but they're slowly getting older and taller and better at getting him.
In a few years, it's going to get real interesting.
They love it though, and look forward to it every year.

Mom just takes the pictures. Claire thought the confetti was funny.

Hope you had as much fun as we did. Happy Easter!
