Easter

Easter is always a great time of year. We had fun, though we missed Jason who
was flying home from Brazil. We did our baskets and egg hunt in the morning
then attended church. That night we had an easter dinner with friends.
It was a wonderful day!!

We picked Jason up at 5 am the next morning, and he had these for the boys!
They were so excited! The biggest eggs ever.

Spring Break

We had a great time over spring break. Jason unfortunately was out of town,
but we still did a lot of fun things and made some good memories.
I'm so thankful my boys get along so well.

We went swimming at our friend's house two days. They heated
their pool and cooked hotdogs for us. They are so nice to us!

Another friend got baby chicks and we had fun holding and feeding those.

We tooks walks, went to the park, and just ran around in the nice weather....

We went to Huntsville State park one day with some good friends and did geocaching.
Our first time!
It was a fun experience and all the boys had such a blast.

It was a beautiful day and we hiked, went through the nature center, ate a picnic
lunch, and just hung out. It was a great day.

My neighbor told us about Sheldon state park, so we went there on the last day
of spring break, but it ended up being much colder than we expected. We didn't stay long
but we were impressed with the hiking trails and how close it is to our house. We'll have
to try it out again sometime.

Can you see the frog in here?

We were disappointed we hiked all the way here and it was closed.....

We had a great week! It was tough to go back to school.

Rodeo!

It's Rodeo time again in Houston! And this year was quite fabulous.
Chase did mutton busting....and WON!
We had some family join us and it was all around a great time.

a true texas moment....taking a picture of a dead pig on the side of the road.
we've hiked around a lot the past few years trying to see wild pigs
and this is the first one we've seen.

it was a whole day event! we started in the morning and then the boys went home
while the girls stayed for the nighttime entertainment. it was an awesome day.

The first thing we wanted to do was mutton busting.
We had to wait an hour, so we watched the pig races....

And caught the last part of a wild animal show.

Then it was time for the main reason we were there - our last time to have a mutton buster!
He was so brave! I could tell he was nervous, but he did a great job.
(and I LOVE that he's wearing his church shoes)

And he WON! It was so exciting!!! He rode that sheep all the way to the end of the arena!
WAY TO GO CHASE! Both shoes even fell off. He was awesome. It was so fun to watch him ride.

Next up was the carnival. The boys love riding the rides and playing carnival games.
They are so lucky their dad is so good at those games and helps them win a lot of prizes.

Half of these pictures Chase looks scared.....it cracks me up.

The boys eventually went home and we shopped and ate and went inside.
We saw the calves being shown, and my sister proved to be a very accurate judge!
We think we found her calling in life. She picked out the winner 3x in a row!!!

This calf was born this morning! So cute.

The calf scramble, one of my favorite parts of the rodeo.
There's so much to like and watch...it's just so fun. We had a great time.
