the holiday season

jason had this great idea that we should try to not turn on the heat this year.
maybe we should re-think that idea...

getting ready for christmas

we had fun decorating for christmas. i love putting our christmas stuff up
and we love going to pick out a real christmas tree.

chase likes to decorate his own way...

i love this one of chase running and jason trying to figure out the lights.
jason always does the tree lights - and i love it!
this year was his year for colored lights on the tree (i would rather have white)
so we switch off year to year

ta daa! all done. i don't know if you can tell, but many of our
colored strands were broken. so we have mostly colored with a
few white strands here and there. ha!

Thanksgiving

my parents came to visit for thanksgiving.
and it was so so so much fun. we love it when they come.
the boys love seeing grandma and grandpa.
and we love laughing and playing together.
i wish they lived closer.

there was a lot of fishing. i think this was grant's first time
really fishing, with a worm and hook and everything,
and he had a great time.

one day we went down to stingaree's, a fish restaurant on bolivar penninsula.
the food is good, the view amazing, and we walked the beach and fished after we ate.
the boys love the ferry ride and we had fun being together.

we showed grandma and grandpa how to play the xbox...

amd we also spent time biking riding, walking to the park,
and just being outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

on one of our walks grandpa picked up a dead snake and brought it home.
grant and grandpa identified it and then preserved it in alcohol.
it's currently sitting on a shelf in his room, and grant talks about it non stop.
i think that was the greatest day of grant's life thus far.

fishing at east end park

grandpa so nicely held grant up so he could see a water snake

thanksgiving! we made some great food. had a huge delicious turkey, stuffing,
twice baked potatoes, and rolls. oh and pumpkin cake and apple crisp.
YUM.
