Austin and Demolition Derby

In September every year there's a demolition derby we like to attend. We've been

so many times now that it's become a tradition and the boys really look forward

to it. It's usually a nice break from the beginning of school too. 

It actually got rained out twice, but we finally made it. It's near Austin so

we usually make it a weekend trip and do a park or two, eat some good food, swim

in the hotel pool, and see the demolition derby. 

Jason found this cool park we checked out after lunch since we still had a

few hours before the derby started. It was beautiful weather and we had fun playing 

around and being kids again. :)  The park was huge and you had to walk around 

on a trail to see everything, since it was all spread out.

This scared me! The boys climbed this rock and I wanted to do it too, but I'm not

super good with heights. Then, when Jason was taking a picture, Claire, who is scared

of nothing, decides she wants to not be left out!! She's so brave!

Claire of course wanted a turn......she loves these things!

We found a Frisbee and that was great fun....

Demolition derby time! It was fun to see the crashes. It was super muddy from all

the rain and we even got mud thrown on us a few times. It was fun to have snow cones

and hot-dogs and watch the show, and support a local volunteer fire dept.

Claire almost made it to the end! She was so good and is such a good sport.
We had a great time!!

Claire turns 2!

And just like that, the cutest girl ever turns 2!!!!

Claire had a blast on her special day. She was so so so excited she could

barely contain herself. It was the cutest thing ever. She totally knows

what presents are and she was really excited for her pink cupcakes.

She is saying quite a few words, running around,  and can climb anything. 

She loves to be outside, play with stuffed animals, blocks, and loves reading books.

She loves to give kisses, and wave, and say hi to anyone she meets. 

She is so fun and entertaining and we love her so much!

First up is opening presents. 

I love it how when they're small, the presents are HUGE!

  

 She was excited to wear her hat. She saw the hats out for Grant's birthday and 

talked about them all the time. So when it was her birthday she kept saying "hat?" 

"hat?" and wanting everyone to wear them! She's so adorable.

She got a bubble machine and immediately the boys wanted to show her what it was.

Her surprise when all the bubbles came out was priceless!

  

The boys got her this water table activity thing. This was a huge hit too.

Then we took her to the park, one of her favorite places.

Finally it was time for cupcakes!

It was such a fun day celebrating. We love you Claire! Happy Birthday!
