winter fun

we had some warm winter days after christmas, so while jason was taking down

the lights, the boys noticed that if they used his ladder, and put it against the oak tree

in the front yard, they could climb up! they loved being up there. 

i wish i got a really good shot of both of them in the tree at the same time.

then, as the weather got colder, the fires started. just like i remember growing up, they

are crazy obsessed with fire. so you can imagine the boys love having a fire outside with dad.

then we had not one, but two winter snow days! it didn't really snow, but got really cold,

had ice and sleet, and school and businesses were closed. we had a super fun day. made 

snowballs, drank hot choclate, had a fire, watched movies, and went in and out all day to
check out what the weather was doing. it was a really great day.
made me wish we saw the snow this year.

chase turns 4!

in january, chase turned 4. where did the time go? 

he is so incredibely fun. so talkative, so imaginative, 

such a fun personality to have around.

he adds so much joy to our lives.

i never imagined the love we would feel for these 

little people we're in charge of.

chuck-e-cheese is probably the boys' favorite parts of their birthday

chase dislikes cake and ice cream, but he wanted to decorate cupcakes this year.

we had fun doing it, even though all he ate after was the icing and sprinkles! 

(he actually wanted a bowl of just icing and sprinkles. gross.)

he chose pizza for his birthday dinner. it's either that, or his other favorite, cheeseburgers!

judging by his fingers, we had cheetos too. he LOVES anything salty.

he also LOVES fire. 

one of the favorite gifts this year was geodes. 

they loved cracking them open and finding out what is inside.

jason said a hacksaw would be better so this huge one wouldn't crack into

a million pieces...but that didn't work. so we ended up hitting it with a hammer anyway.
