Grant's first day of kindergarten

Grant's going to school!

he was so excited to start kindergarten. (and yes, i shed more than a few tears).
i took him to pick out a shirt for his first day. not my best idea.
fun for him, but i don't like this obnoxious shirt. oh well, it could be worse, right?
and he still has that adorable face. :)

here he is a few minutes after getting off the bus. it was a looooong first day.

now that it's been a few weeks, he's getting into the groove and is loving going
to school. i still miss him...but it's been a great experience for him. i'm grateful for good schools.

Grant turns 6!!!

he was so excited for his birthday.
i love it how he loves to wear party hats, and wears them almost all day on his birthday.
it was fun to see chase get excited, though there were a few tears shed.
he, of course, wanted it to be his birthday too. grant was awesome about sharing.

i love how tall, polite, and genuinely kind grant is. he is always thinking
of others before himself - more times than i can count, he's saved a treat to bring it home to share
with chase, or offered to spend his money buying something for me instead of what he was
originally going to buy. he's incredible. he's growing into such a fabulous little boy.

i love how you can see the arrow in this picture!
grant doesn't look too impressed.
(i must say, the bow and arrow looked MUCH bigger online.)

hanging his new signs in his room

some of his first science experiments

this is the day of his party. 5 year old boys everywhere! it was fun, though our AC wasn't
working, so the poor kids were SWEATING. i don't think they cared. it was awesome.

the boys had a blast helping me hang these balloons

i don't have many pictures from the party, but i'm glad i got this one.
grant's face is priceless. he LOVES having kids over. he's such a social butterfly.
they were wrapping each other up like mummy's and they thought it was hilarious.
(problem was, with the sweating, the toliet paper kept ripping. oh well.)
