the livestock show
rodeo time in march is the best. i think this was one of the most fun years
we've had with the boys. grant was told enough to really do stuff, and chase
was the right age to be content people watching and eating.
we got there early, so we started with the things we usually can't do
because of crazy long lines. pony ride was first!

then the petting zoo. they give you pellets in ice cream cones, and the
animals just maul you trying to get at the food. little kids are screaming.
once the food is gone, it's fun to pet everything.
they are all so tame. chase was screaming with delight.
and all the animals about to give birth
then we pet the bunnies
i love this guy. i wish we had one at our house!
not only is he tame, but he can be house trained.
he's huge!!!
then the longhorns
and one of grant's favorite part - the tractors
after we did everything inside, we went outside. saw the pig races, then
went for the carnival. grant was so excited. he loves rides, and i'm glad
jason was willing to go with him....these rides were not my thing.
a few of these rides grant had the face of terror....
then jason helped him enjoy it. too funny!!
this was chase the whole day. content to be sticky with a sucker and
people/animal watch. he was soooo good!!! what a cute face.
you can see grant's face of terror right here....
the ferris wheel! my favorite. grant was TERRIFIED
when we got up really high.
the last thing was the mutton busting. our favorite.
grant was AWESOME. such a brave kid.

Waco
we drove to waco to visit some old friends - todd and crystal. we had a great time! they have pet turtles, a large tree and slide, and made us dinner and crepes - so of course we all had a blast.
thanks for the great weekend guys!
grant loved this tree and slide
here you can see their pet turtles, who love strawberries.
once we fed them, they were so friendly!!
chase was a little hesitant about having a turtle crawl into his lap
with some help from my dad, jason and todd clipped
this turtle's beak type thing. here it is before:
we went to this amish type community who had all sorts of fun things to see
here's jason at the woodworking shop (of course!)
they were selling the best pizza made from all natural ingredients
and cooked in this outdoor oven
the grain mill
we forgot our camera - thanks todd for taking pictures with your phone!
what a fun weekend!
