Sand Castles in Galveston

We went and saw a sand castle contest in Galveston sometime in June. The ocean water is SO warm! You can literally walk out a good 100 yards or so and still stand up with water up to your waist/chest. The water seems a little murky and there's some seaweed in some parts, but after you get past a certain point, it's just warm sea water and it's kinda fun to just feel the waves come pushing past your body. It's no Hawaii--but it was still a fun time.

This is supposed to be the set of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory with the chocolate river etc.

This was the single, best one. SO much detail on this oriental style one!

Day 7, part 2

Here's a picture of me taking on some good body boarding waves at Banzai. You can't tell from this picture, but they were BIG and POWERful.

We also took a trip to the La'ie Falls Park and saw some cool birds, did some shopping, and saw a HUGE tree!

This is a real life sea turtle and we ended up getting some video of us walking right past it onto the other side there. This beach was one of the most secluded ones we went to and even though it looks muddy and nasty right now, in the morning on a sunny day, its as clear, green, and blue as Hanauma Bay. This officially concludes the Hawaii pictures. It was a blast.

Day 7, Part 1
